Security forces raided the house of Rohingyas alleged to be involved in the shooting of tabbe Sawdeya Oo (also known as Zawjeya Oo) in Hashurata, Maungdaw South.
On Tuesday, security forces entered into the house of two Rohingyas and sexually abused two women as they pretended to search for ‘terrorists’.
On Monday, police and Hlun Htein personal raided the house of Mujib Ullah (25) in the Haji para neighbourhood of the village.
Mujib however got whiff of the raid beforehand and managed to escape through the back entrance in the nick of time.
A local tabbe called Zaid Hossain allegedly guided the security forces in the raid. Zaid is a close associate of Sawdeya and since his shooting, he seemed to have been entrusted with some of the tabbe’s duties the most important being to ‘convince’ the Rohingyas to accept the green card.
The tabbe alleges Mujid is a terror operative, a charge denied by our local sources.
Most of the men folk have gone into hiding fearing torture by security forces.
Another tabbe Ayatollah has been entrusted with the duty of preparing a list of men who are possibly involved in the attack on Sawdeya. Locals fear that Sawdeya’s associates are preparing a long list of innocent people to strike terror among the ordinary populace and convince them to leave for Bangladesh. Already five innocent women have been arrested and tortured.
Sawdeya resided over a reign of terror in Hashurata area. He led a group of miscreants who raped many women and transformed the coastal village into a human trafficking hub where many were kidnapped and put into migrant boats. Many families have sent their women into Bangladesh to avoid abuse by this infamous gang and the security forces that back them.
