Seven Muslim men are in a critical condition after being tortured by the army in Merulla, Maungdaw South.
On Wednesday morning, army personal found seven Muslim men fishing in a pond besides Siddharpara of the area. They told the men that they could fish in this country’s waters as they were Muslims.
They then took the men to their camp and mercilessly tortured them for four hours.
The men were later returned to their neighbourhood in a critical condition.
The vicitims have been identified as Hamid Hossain s/o Nurul Islam, his brother Zahid Hossain, Hafizur Rahman s/o Kamal Hossain, his brother Monjur Rahman, Mojib Ullah s/o Asar Uddin, his brothers Azam Ullah and Enayet Ullah.
In recent days, government has taken further steps to starve Rohingyas by stopping them from fishing and collecting wood.
