A tabbe has extorted 250,000 kyats from a woman who had gone to Bangladesh for medical treatment, according to our local correspondent.
Kalani, d/o Ahmed (42) was unavailable for census at Phiring dong, Rathidaung as she had to go to Bangladesh to remove a tumour.
When she returned tabbe Baish Kutu told her that unless she paid 250,000 kyats to him, he would inform the police that she had gone to Bangladesh illegally.
Tabbe Baish Kutu is one of the most infamous collaborators in the region. In this week alone, he had extorted almost a million kyats from different people on different charges.
Meanwhile as medical treatment is unavailable for Rohingyas inside the Arakan, many risk a perilous and hard journey to Bangladesh.
Rohingyas who have often gone to medical centres of Arakan have been assaulted and even killed.
