The representatives of the government of Burma presented a draft but in details schedule for the ceremony of a transfer of political power to newly selected president by lawmakers to the representatives of NLD following a meeting of coordination teams of both sides held at the mid-day February 24 in Myanmar’s capital Naypyidaw.
According to the Ministry of Information, the coordination teams of both current government and incoming NLD government regarding the transfer of power have discussed the schedule of ceremony in details during the meeting.
Ye Htut, the information minister told that the ceremony will be held at the presidential palace on March 30 or 31 and NLD needs to send a confirmation upon the schedule to the government before March 17.
It is known that afore said is a third time meeting between the representatives of both government and NLD coordination teams, and another fourth time meeting will be held sometime in early March.
It is also known that the coordination committee members of government are as information minister Ye Htut, director-general of the president’s office Hla Tun, deputy director-general of the Ministry of Construction Maung Maung Ohn, and director of the president’s office Zaw Htay, where the members of the NLD’s power-transfer team includes central executive committee member Win Htein, physician and NLD operative Myo Aung, and former rector of Yangon University Aung Thu.
Disclosure about the meeting was denied by U Win Tin of NLD for the reasons of security.
