BGP assaulted three Rohingya men in Gora Hali of Maungdaw South on Saturday.
The men were sitting in front of a stall following evening prayers when they saw an aggressive looking BGP team making rounds. Sensing the BGP might harass them, the three men panicked and ran away.
The BGP however managed to catch them. They were then brutally beaten up in public.
The merciless assault continued for some time after which police began searching them. Nothing illegal was however found. Still the BGP said since they had ran away there must be something to hide.
They were later released on the payment of 150,000 kyats.
The victims have been identified as 44 year Mortaza, 22 year Kabir Ahmed, and 16 year Din Mohammad.
