A man tortured in Buthidaung jail has died a few days following his release.
Family members of Ali Akbar say that he experienced intense pain in his stomach region on Saturday. He passed away a few hours later in his home at Anak parang, Rathedaung.
Akbar was arrested in 2012 on charges of rioting. He was released from prison last week his condition became critical.
Since 2012, hundreds of Muslims have died in the prisons of Arakan state after being tortured.
