Victims have identified five human traffickers as working for kingpin Anwar.
Rohingyas held in the jungle camps of Southern Thailand say that the four of these five men supervised the day to day operations. The fifth man oversaw the operation from Bangladesh.
They are Nasir, Khaleque, Jewel and Abdur Rahman. The fourth man seemed to be senior to the other three in rank. The three men were addressed by the refugees as boss e.g. Nasir Boss, Khaleque Boss and Jewel boss. Anwar himself was addressed as Anwar Sir.
The use of these titles was a way to dominate the prisoners so they dared not disobey the orders of the traffickers. Anyone who made a minor error was killed. In this way, the prisoners were coerced into submission.
Another man Azad Boss supervised the operation from Bangladesh.
