A close personal associate of Anwar is believed to have returned to Bangladesh within the past few days. It is also believed that he will leave for a Middle Eastern country the first chance he gets.
Md Rafique, s/o Mujair left Thailand after police arrested trafficking kingpin Anwar. His arrest led to the discovery of mass graves deep in the jungles of Southern Thailand.
Rafique has committed rape and torture on Rohingya and Bangladeshi migrants. He was second in chain of command after Anwar and controlled the lower layers of criminals.
Sources say that the Bangladesh government is well aware of his movements. But traffickers in Bangladesh are often protected by government machinery.
