The army have arrested two Rohingya Muslims from Nagpura, Maungdaw for smuggling kerosene from Bangladesh.
Md Salim (39), s/o Nurul Islam and Md Jokoria(38) were arrested on Sunday.
They were later released after a payment of 30,000 kyats.
Many Rohingyas used to purchase kerosene from the bordering areas of Bangladesh by sneaking into the country with permission from the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB). Such entry has however been greatly restricted since 2012.
Even then Rohingya children can be seen running to Bangladesh territory for Kersene during the noon time when BGB change shift.
