Two Rohingya men have been injured by gunfire in Foira bazar adjacent to the village tract of Boli Bazar in Maungdaw North.
None of the hospitals in the Maungdaw area have accepted them, leaving them in a critical and painful condition since Friday.
Military intelligence and BGP forces fired shots at a Rohingya crowd after a visit by Lawaka officials in the area.
The exact reasons of the firing are unknown. Some people say it is because Rohingyas in the area refused to accept the green card while others say BGP just wanted to disperse the large number of shoppers going to the market place before Eid day.
The bullets hit 18 year Rashid Ahmed in the waist and hand while 60 year Jokir Ahmed was hit in the hand.
Both were refused treatment by the hospitals in the area leaving them in a critical condition. Rohingya patients are generally not accepted in the hospitals of Arakan state.
