Bangladesh Correspondent: Police arrested two tribal youths for breaking idols and attacking Buddisht temple at upper Sakpara of Baichari union of Naikhonchuri, Bandarban district on January 8.
The two arrestees are identified as Aung Sai Sak 15 s/o Atui Sak of middle Sakpara village of the union and Sakkra Aung 16 s/o Kizari Sak of the same village.
On last January 08, a group of youths assaulted the temple and ransacked the idols of Shiyapara of Baichari union.
On 11.01.2016 at 10.am, the (OC) Officer Incharge of Naikhongchuri police staion along with Incharge of investigation center, Anisur Rahman of Bachari, Upazilla Chairman Monirul Hoque, Rakhine community freedom fighter, Maung Shoi Pru Chowdury, freedom fighter Babu Dung Sai Marma, headman Maung Sanu Sak, JSS leader Maung Nu headman, Babu Neula Maung Marma, Maungri Sak, Whaikhong Sak, Tuai Sala Sak, headman Maung Tuik Marma and other tribel Buddisht people inspected the spot.
On 8 January, after the inspection and visiting the spot, the (OC) Officer Incharge of Naikhonchuri police station assured the truth of the incident and arrested the two tribel youths who instantly confessed their involvement in the incident during police interrogation. Later, a tribal namely Ba Maung Sa of Naikhonchuri union lodged a case with the Naikhonchuri police station in this regard.
