Lack of water is causing hardships for refugees at Leda and Nayapara.
The situation is especially bad in the unregistered refugee camp of Leda where the Bangladesh government has stopped all humanitarian operations. Water borne diseases continue to kill children and women face sexual harassment as they search for water in nearby Bengali villages.
In the registered camp of Nayapara, situation is a bit better as UNHCR provides some water. However the water provided does not meet the requirments of refugees.
On Friday, two women were injured as they fought among themselves. Noor Nahar (32) and Taslima Begum (27) had to be taken for medical treatment after a bitter fight.
