A woman was assaulted and fined as she returned from Bangladesh.
Noor Haba (29) d/o Dolu went to Bangladesh as she was suffering from severe illness. Rohingya Muslim women don’t go to Rakhine hospitals as patients have often been assaulted and even murdered by medical staff.
The women returned on March 23 to her home in Kuinna para, Maungdaw South. When Aishwaramu Yasin heard that she had returned from Bangladesh, he alleged that she had gone to conspire with Muslim activists to create unrest in Arakan.
Yasin also alleged that the woman was involved with many anti state activists operating out of foreign countries.
Noor sold her house to raise 900,000 kyats demanded by the tabbe.
In a separate incident, Yasin and his cohorts assaulted a 30 year man Hafez Ahmed for quarrelling with a fellow villager. He was forced to pay 700,000 kyats.
