Refugees face difficulty for firewood in camps

The new Rohingya refugees are facing difficulties for cooking food because of shortage of firewood, A refugee from the camp said.
The refugee men accompanied by children go to forest for collecting firewood at risk everyday, he added.
“We are not getting firewood for cooking food, we need to go to forest for collecting firewood,” the refugees said.
Mostly, boys, men including widows have to go to mountain for firewood collecting for their survival.
They go to forest far away in the morning and return their camps at afternoon after collecting firewood, another refugee said.
However, UNHCR began distributing cooking fuel in the form of compressed rice husks as refugees are sending youngsters to forests for collecting firewood everyday, which puts the children at risk. UNHCR will continue these distributions the refugees, sources said. ##
