RAB arrests two local people with Rohingya relief in borde

A group of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two local people with large quantity of Rohingyas relief— rice, pulses (Dal) and blankets in border on March 23, according to our correspondent.
It is known that a group of local people had been stocking rice, pulses and various commodities and smuggling the relief of Rohingya refugees in different places for long time.
The operation was conducted by the Company Commander Major Ruhul Amin of RAB Cox’s Bazar camp yesterday.
The detainees are identified as Khokon, 35, son of Ali Hossain of Balukhali village and Hamid, son of Mohammad Noor.
Major Ruhul Amin, the Commander from Cox’s Bazar RAB camp said that on the basis of secret information, RAB raided and seized 43 sacks of rice, 51 sacks of pulses and one sack of blanket from Balukhali. The various commodities were kept in a warehousing for the purpose of smuggling.
However, two arrested people were given punishment for one month with this connection, the Executive Magistrate and Ukhiya Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ekram Siddiqui said. ##
