Six women drowned after vessel capsizes in Myanmar’s Yangon region

YANGON, (Burma Times) — Six women were killed after a vessel capsized in Taikkyi township, Myanmar’s former capital city of Yangon, Xinhua news agency reported, quoting the Ministry of Home Affairs late Sunday.

With 26 bean producers including 15 women on board, the vessel capsized on the Ayeyawaddy river near Aphauk town on Saturday at 7 am local time.

The six victims were found drowned in the river with 20 others on board rescued.
